Since 2022, Romil Singh has been the Global Head of ASMPT's Investor Relations department. With close to two decades of industry experience, he shares what Investor Relations is about at ASMPT and how it plays a crucial role in enabling the digital world.

What is Investor Relations at ASMPT?

Investor Relations (IR) is the strategic bridge between ASMPT and our stakeholders, specifically, the financial community. These include institutional investors, buy- and sell-side analysts, boutique funds, business media, traders/ brokers, and retail investors. IR is more than just communicating financial results - it's about telling our company's story, showcasing our vision, and most importantly building trust with stakeholders.

To share our company’s story, we also act as the information hub for our C-Suite and Senior Management. We work closely with them to learn and understand their needs and concerns. From there, we analyse the information gathered to provide strategic advice and to align our story internally, before we present this to external audiences.

In our fast-paced semiconductor industry, we are essentially storytellers – presenting and highlighting to the financial community the tangible value behind the complex technologies we create and develop. We are also relationship builders and strategic advisors to the C-Suite, ensuring that ASMPT’s innovative ‘DNA’ and strong long-term potential is well understood and hopefully appreciated by the market.

What aspect of Investor Relations excites you?

What truly excites me about IR at ASMPT is the opportunity to be at the forefront of technological innovation. At ASMPT, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible, and IR plays a pivotal role in communicating these breakthroughs to our stakeholders in ways that demonstrate value to customers, companies and end applications. In my role, it has been very fulfilling to work across various departments, especially the technical teams, to understand cutting-edge developments and then help craft compelling narratives that translate and demonstrate how these innovations drive our company's growth and industry leadership and provide value to our customers, who use our tools to build the tiny electronic miracles that power all aspects of modern life.

What is your Vision for Investor Relations in ASMPT?

My vision is simple - position ASMPT as the strong and visionary leader in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. Our company vision - enabling the digital world – will be achieved through continuous innovation and a relentless spirit of improvement. This commitment to innovation is the cornerstone of my interactions with the investment community and guides our IR strategy and framework.

Innovation is our lifeblood. It allows us to position ASMPT as a driving force helping to shape the future of the digital world. This innovation message of leadership resonates strongly with many of our investors.

Talking about innovation also allows us to take a super-proactive approach when engaging our audiences. We can balance business figures and financials with strong and compelling messages about our long-term ability to create valuable technologies that are making a difference for our customers. We can actively engage in substantive discussions about emerging technologies, market trends, and how our innovations are addressing global challenges.

By consistently showcasing our innovative spirit, we’ve been able to attract and retain investors who share our long-term vision and appreciate the transformative potential of our technologies.
