The Wiring

Do you agree that everyone is wired differently??Do you agree that we all have biases around how we think about others’ wiring that are different than our own??Can we agree we need different wirings for different roles??Do you agree that no matter the wiring you can do anything you darn well want to if you have a desire and passion to commit to it??I get energized by seeing people work the way they are wired.?Do you know who gave me the freedom to be myself and take action according to my wiring?

Earlier this week I was working with someone as an executive coach and they said, “I really need to know it all.?I have to know everything about it.”?And instead of reacting saying, “You do??That’s impossible.” Or questioning his statement, “Why do you need to know everything?”?You know what I said??“Of course you do.”?And the person looked at me as if I had just shared a gift or something very personal with them.?It calmed them and allowed them to think clearly about next steps and his way of “knowing it all.”?Why did I have this certainty about this executive??Because I knew their Kolbe A Index result and it provided both of us freedom to lean into our wiring versus trying to disconnect or re- wire based on someone else’s viewpoint.?And you may be wondering, Shawn, do you need to know it all when taking action??If you know me well, you know the answer is - not at all - just enough with a little mystery.??
