Wireless CCTV solution for monitoring Coal Heaps in a Coal Mines.

Location: - West Bengal & Jharkhand

Project Requirement: -

CCTV surveillance using Wireless solution to monitor and store the video footage at Control Room for the 5 Coal Heaps and 3 weigh bridges spread over an area of 10 Sq. Kms.

Features of project:-

• 28 Fixed type IP Cameras with 50 meters IR sensor and 7 PTZ IP cameras with 150 meters IR sensor, along with 6 no. 16 channel NVR are used in this project
• CCTV monitoring is done at 5 local offices  and 1 at the Central control Room 
• 48 Industrial grade rugged radio modems with MCAS firmware is used for this project to provide reliable communication for such a critical project. This firmware provides a reliable link with 99.9% availability of high throughput Data. These Radio works in MIMO technology and follows IEEE 802.11n & ac standard for providing a link throughput of approx. 250 Mbps
• Use of license free 5.8 GHz frequency band.

 Challenges: -

• An extensive RF survey was carried out to get Line Of Site for designing wireless Network for the project,
• Installation of the 30 mtrs tower and pole mast posed a daunting challenge due to uneven terrain.
•  The local power supply was highly unstable with large voltage variations. In order to ensure uninterrupted system operation and to prevent damage to wireless equipment, a 4 Hour Power back up along with voltage stabilizing system was specially designed to overcome the problem of voltage fluctuation and outage of supply.
• Installation engineers were required to traverse long distances up to 30 kms and climb 30 mtrs high towers at 7 different locations, in a highly dry, unfriendly environment full of dust from the coal mines,
