The Wire Walker

The wire walker loves the thrill

Of walking high in the sky

The line he walks -only an inch thick

No room for error

This is no trick

The risks to his life -are extremely high

Safety checks complete

A balancing act

An adventure - with his steady feet

Peaceful and serene

Closer to the heavens

He's living his dream

Mind, body and spirit- in unity take flight

The breeze gently moving through his hair

His nerves in check

Many wouldn't dare...

He's ready for this path -high up in the air

Venturing out onto the line

Looking straight ahead

Faith on his side and self belief

He takes his time

Focused

Concentrating

Clouds all around, he dares to glance down- at the distant ground

Respecting the space - not a single sound

In a meditative state and laser sharp precision

He carefully selects his step and makes the right decision

Knowing arrogance - has no place high up here

Banishing self doubt and obvious fear

Half way across he takes a daring bow

Spectators from far below -look up in awe

Knowing the slightest mistake -leads straight to deaths door

He's thankful for this journey

Balancing with care

He doesn't feel alone- he's very self aware

He finally makes it -to the other side

The adrenaline rush is immense

He has tears of pride and joy 

The crowd tense

The rush and suspense - as they viewed from down below

Cheers can be heard

What a way to go!

Echoing above

A sense of achievement as he survived his show

The accomplished dream

The love of his skill and indomitable will

Something a lot of people -never get to see

Driven by a passion burning deep inside

Pushing past boundaries and leaving fear behind

Inspiring others to follow his leading ways

To pursue their dreams - starting from today

Grasping the moment and putting themselves through their test

Their souls desire and future happiness

The wire walker -already setting his new goal

Looking for new heights to share his daring ways

Taking risks and enjoying the present time

No one is promised tomorrow

So he makes everyday count

He's made the news and shares his success

Showing the world

His message is clear
