A “win/win” Relationship
Choosing the right recruiter is as important, if not more important,?than choosing the right candidate for the position. Some recruiters will promise to show you great candidates next week, before they have thoroughly?taken?the job assignment. These “headhunters” are looking for the quick placement,?using?whatever tactics necessary to get the candidate to say yes, then move on for the next quick buck.
A seasoned recruiter knows the only good placement is the “win/win” placement. You have to find out what type of employees the hiring authority already has working for his company. What is it that the company really needs, in experience, in character,?and?what is really going to be a good fit to be a win for the company.
It’s the same for the candidate. What type of firm has the candidate achieved their greatest success?in? Is?your?current search that type of company? What does?your?candidate need to be a success? What is going to make it a win for the candidate?

The best recruiters also have personal experience in the sector that they specialize in. That being the case, they will know the jargon; they’ll already know many of the companies on day one in the job. For example, I focus on placing public finance bankers?who?underwrite?municipal bonds. Before I became a recruiter, I sold those same municipal bonds to high net worth individuals. On day one as a recruiter, I not only knew and understood what the bankers did, I had eight years of public finance experience.
If you’re a hiring authority looking to expand, or a public finance professional looking for a better opportunity, call me Richard 720 406-7499 and lets make a “win/win/win” engagement. Oh, yeah, the aspen picture. I live and work in the Rocky Mountains and just like to share our fall colors. Doesn’t have anything to do with my article, so just enjoy.
