CONVERSATION STARTERS TO SET THE STAGE?

Could you use a few Qs to have in your back pocket?????

Small talk about the weather and traffic gets old and certainly doesn’t set us up to talk about what most matters to us when we are networking. (Unless you're a meteorologist or work in transportation!)

By asking intentional open-ended questions, we set a framework to create more meaningful connections and conversations. The people we are meeting also appreciate the questions because it gives each person a chance to move forward on their networking goal and enhance the experience.

• Look over this list of joyful conversation starters (click here). Some are for informal social gatherings, and others are for professional settings.?
• Identify some conversation starters that would work well for you.?
• Write the conversation starters down and have them handy as you practice using them (e.g., an electronic note on your phone or computer or a card in your wallet).

Connection:

Make a plan to approach someone new by trying out at least one of these conversation starters at the next gathering you attend (online or in-person). See what happens with the quality of your connections!?
