1. Meet 'Supper with Love' cookbook author Michelle Braxton

?? Teri Elam has purchased her fair share of cookbooks over the years.?

Still, after reading Michelle Braxton’s?Supper with Love, she felt like floating to the farmer’s market and frolicking amongst the vegetables – picking out the prettiest heirloom tomatoes, the greenest greens, some Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower and going to town.

Ten years ago, Braxton began sharing images of the meals she made for her partner, Alex, and herself. She received so many requests for recipes that she started a blog to spread her delight in plant-forward and pescatarian cooking. She named it?Supper with Michelle, an ode to her partner’s grandmother, who often referred to the last meal of the day as supper.

???? Elam had the opportunity to speak with Braxton recently. You can find that full interview here.

2. National nonprofit aims to help rural Georgia newspapers

? The Georgia Trust for Local News?–a subsidiary of the National Trust for Local News?–has recently acquired 18 newspapers in Middle and South Georgia, aiming to blend nonprofit and for-profit practices for sustainable local journalism.

Supported by substantial grants from organizations like the Knight and Woodruff foundations, this venture, initiated by DuBose Porter, the longtime publisher of the Dublin Courier Herald, seeks to preserve local news against the declining backdrop of newspapers nationwide.

The model aims to ensure newspapers remain locally relevant and financially self-sustaining, and that they will benefit from shared resources and modernization efforts.
