Winter Updates from Cancer Card

On behalf of us all at Cancer Card, we just wanted to send out a heartfelt thank you for supporting us this year. We have reached many major milestones this year including receiving NHS recognition, launching our phoneline, digital helpline and social security partnership and our comfort box has now been sent out to over 1,000 cancer patients!

The feedback from those we are helping is truly touching and we could not have done any of these things without your dedicated support. Whether you have continued to follow what we do, helped to raise awareness, taken part in a fundraiser or made a donation every contribution has made a significant impact, so thank you.

Our 2024 Achievements

NHS approval

In April 2024, we received NHS approval and were listed on the NHS inform website as a trusted and impartial source of information for cancer patients. Our materials were sent out to all hospitals and GP practices across Scotland so that cancer patients could access our services.

New Services

Throughout the year we have introduced various services to extend our reach to those affected by cancer. We looked at digital deprivation and disability benefits and established fantastic partnerships to tackle the issues facing cancer patients. We also launched our own phoneline where we have dedicated call handlers to support those affected by cancer.

1,000 Comfort Boxes

We recently hit the 1,000 box milestone meaning that we have now provided over 1,000 comfort boxes to cancer patients. As a small, young charity this is something we are really proud of and we look to roll out a Children's Comfort Box initiative in the New Year, which you can support us with below.

Our Podcast

Podcasts are are great way to bring support, hope and comfort to listeners. In 2024, we launched a series of conversations on Spotify which are there to offer advice and support to people affected by cancer. The episodes have been well received and we look forward to engaging in more interesting conversations in 2025.

Our Christmas Crowdfunder

We are running a crowdfunder over Christmas to raise money for our comfort box, and soon to be launching Children’s comfort box initiative.
