Winter Newsletter 2024

Dear Readers:

The winter months present the time for reflection, renewal, and recommitment to our individual and collective goals. I’m no scientist; however, Albert Einstein’s theory, which includes time speeding up, certainly seems accurate to me. Where does the time go? Here’s to a bright new year, filled with fun, family, laughter, and love! Thank you!

The Conundrum of Social Media Saturation: Who Really Comprises the Majority?

Regular Newsletter followers will know that I struggled with my second book – now nearly completed – and entitled “Can’t We All Just Get Along,” Rodney King, Courageous Communication: a Return to Civility.

The reason for my struggle was the result of a succession of surveys, responded to worldwide, with what I initially thought were startling, surprising, even shocking results.

Events - Upcoming & Current

SoCal Women’s Conference

For those of you living in the Southern California area, I’ll be presenting at the SoCal Women’s Conference at Pasadena’s Hilton Hotel, on Friday, March 22nd. Under the “Empowerment” banner, my interactive presentation is called “Own Your Career: It’s Your Life.” The interactive discussion starts with the question: “Where do you want to be in three to five years?” and then follows up “What’s your plan to get there?”

Leading Through Crisis

I am grateful to Celine Williams and her “Leading Through Crisis” podcast for the recent and wide-ranging interview. We drilled down into communication strategies for navigating workplace challenges, and how to emerge stronger.

Managing vs. resolving conflicts played a major role, a theme I noticed resonates with a majority of my blog readers.

From time to time ATD (the Association for Talent Development) has asked me to write a blog for its online magazine. ATD is the largest membership organization of its kind worldwide, and perhaps, the most-admired. Last year, I was asked to draft a blog on the importance of transparency in the workplace, which I did, and was subsequently asked to expand it for the monthly print magazine. The article “Transparent Cultures are Built on Trust,” was published in the November edition. ATD members can read it online.

Be safe and well, and continue communicating clearly, intentionally, and strategically!

Always eager to expand the circle of newsletter recipients, and to hear feedback. Email me at?[email protected].
