Winning the Talent War
Hi, It's Jeff,
I hope you are doing well out there. There's a lot going on and I feel like every month should be 'mental health month', so remember to take care of yourself.
This month I want to talk a little about talent. One of the top themes Debbie and I address with our clients consistently is TALENT - how to find, nurture it, keep it and creating a healthy corporate culture. It's all agile. What worked in 2020 no longer works in 2022.
It's not 'hard' like physics, but it's not easy either. What I'm going to say is that you have to be honest and realistic in your approach to talent.?Gone - and it's a good thing - are the days where companies act like they own their employees, where the employee is made to feel indebted to the company, as if the company?is doing the employee a favor.?No! The employee is doing the favor.?Read that again. The employee is doing the favor.
The employee is saying 'I have these skills that I am loaning to you to help you grow your business and maintain a level of success in exchange for fair wages, respect, acknowledgement, my own career development and a host of other reasonable expectations.?If you fail in that contract, I will take my skills and go elsewhere'.?
?If you treat your employee force - and they are a force - poorly, they will do things like the great resignation or unionize so you are forced to treat them fairly and hold management accountable.?Greed might make you billions, but it can also be your downfall.?
Choosing profits over people is always a poor choice.?
HOW DO YOU LEVEL UP TALENT?
?The “Great Resignation” is about employees having more control over their career (and development) than ever before. How do you ensure you can attract the top talent you need … and continue investing in them properly?
Start here.
My team spent months creating a talent bundle that anyone can access.
Take it. It's yours!?Seriously, it's really good.
In it you'll find:
Org charts - to help you design one that's right for your organization, not your competitors. If your org chart isn't working for you now, it never will. It's ok to design a new one.
?Job Descriptions - we don't always know what to look for and it's important to get it right.
?Interviews - on why diversity in groups and skillset really really matters.
?Building a Center of Excellence - what it is and the leadership roles you need in your mix.
>>?This bundle jumpstarts your progress! [We ungated it, so get it before my web guy closes that gate!]
