A thousand times I have heard this when a boxer lands an unexpected punch that knocks the opponent out or a grappler that sees an opportunity for submission and takes it. Are often called “lucky”. “That was a lucky shot!” is what the typical audience cries. But they don’t know the hours spent in training, in rehearsal, in repeating, situations that fighters can mechanically respond to

For the person that had factored in many situations, and has practiced it for 10,000 times, to throw that one significant attack, there is no luck there, just preparation and opportunity meeting at a focal point

This includes reducing risk, capitalizing on small retreats, turning threats into opportunities. We learn from the mistakes of others from the past, those that were too complacent with talent and resources, and we also learn to acknowledge certain levels of uncertainty. Murphy’s Law will happen, and when it does, we’re we prepared to handle it

For what it's worth, this pandemic taught us that nothing is certain, there will always be a risk, what we can control is preparation, showtime will come, and when it does, you have been readied 200%.

Prepare for our future selves, if we do not straighten our crooked ways, we might see ourselves in unfamiliar territory. Ready to battle, yes, but with an unfamiliar foe --- or worse, with a common enemy, only to find we unarmed. Prepare our bodies, minds, and hearts. If we can find a way to enhance those, our odd of meeting our future ideal self is more than possible

So, prepare for what you want to succeed at. Consider your weakness and threats as well. Nothing is by chance or luck, for the person who had controlled the outcome by preparation
