Winning Mentality
Everyone naturally loves to win. At DISH we love to win, too. Our difference is our celebration and elevation of those individuals who put in the hard work and preparation to position DISH for victory.
We value the effort, determination and practice -- all the stuff that doesn’t happen under the Friday Night Lights.
Collaboration looks a bit different with the “preparing for the win” mindset. Like any team, we see our work as “practicing together” to get better and stronger. To us, the real benefit is in the journey.
In 1995, I started my career as a junior sales team member selling C-band gear just as we were beginning our transition from the “large” dish business into the “small” dish business. My work at the time was oriented to our then-legacy business. All my investments and labors as a junior bear were about helping the company to make its new DISH brand a tremendous success.
For the most part, that’s how I look at virtually every day I’ve spent here. My days are devoted to preparing the team to win. That’s how I’ve been successful and I look back at how my teammates and I have supported incredible projects -- satellite launches, the creation of Sling TV and, all of our work in wireless, with incredible pride. Not because of the wins, but the satisfaction has come in the preparation.
We couldn’t have accomplished any of these wins without the collaboration, preparation, and dedication of the DISH team.
When we win, we incentivize those around us to innovate, learn and grow together. Every day is an opportunity to be the best version of ourselves; we pride ourselves on the great people who make up our team and always put DISH in a position to win.

Operations Manager at Amazon
4 年I’m inspired by “The Moment of Truth” when a customer engages with a product or service for the first time, and you can see impact on their life. I have had the privilege to work with several organizations that allowed me to be right there, in the customer’s home and witnessed this first hand. When we value engagement, we change lives. And talk about Agile project management. The feedback received in the field, on the frontlines is priceless. Don’t get me wrong, I love the creation and development of the egg, but watching it hatch is amazing.

4 年The winning mentality has always been a personal value and motivator in my life. I truly believe our Winning value is why I love working for this company and have been with Dish for so long.
I get motivated by not to be selfish or self-centeredWhen we can come out of thought that “everything around me is due to my existence only “we can be motivated? let me give a small example? everybody want to be in professional work 9-5.there was a time when there is no support to the guys who are working day night in cold in open field or top of tower and they suffer for mare a small support . that thought of human suffer give me driving force to work for those people by supporting them by going beyond my normal duty and i keep this practice quite few years and the happiness at the end in their face give me inspiration to do more and more help although by doing this I never go to sleep before 3 or 4 am everyday i know this is not going to give me any extra benefit from job.But the satisfaction I get and the love out of these from so many people for me keep me always motivated to do more? so in Erik provious blog “passion” to do any thing is the biggest motivating factor to do any work? we should not bind ourself on a specific role.? at the end of the day if you see smile in the face of people around you ,will forget your tiredness frustration and all demotivating factors. believe me Money,Success all are temporary .If you can make a single person happy by doing a good action in any work will give you best satisfaction and it will motivate you to do more better. And if you are motivated in right direction success fame money will come automatically on your way?
