On the 24th February 2025 any supplier bidding for contracts with the Public Sector will be affected by the rolling out of the new Procurement Act.

We attended a Cabinet Office briefing this morning to understand the process for roll out and actions that our clients need to take to ensure they are still able to access and complete tenders.

I have summarised below key things right now you need to know.

·???????? The new Act goes live on Monday 24th February

·???????? There will be a Central Digital Platform that your organisation will need to set up an account for (this cannot be done until the 24th February 2025)

·???????? On this Platform you will need to complete an SQ style submission with all key company information and keep this up to date.

·???????? Once completed you can share this information easily with Buyers via a code.

·???????? This should remove the need to complete repetitive SQ style forms for every tender.

·???????? Public Procurement Opportunities will also be made available through this account - however, individual Buyers will still use platforms such as Jaeggar, Procontract, Delta, Intend and MultiQuote to manage the Technical/Quality and Commercial elements of the submission.

·???????? The Platform should eventually be a source of data for contracts let and upcoming pipeline.

·???????? Suppliers can choose to set up an account and register on the Central Digital Platform when it launches in February - or just when they are next bidding for a contract.

The good news is, we are here to help you through all of this.

Over the next couple of weeks we'll be sending out some more information regarding sign-up to the Platform that we think you will find useful including details on how we can support you in doing this including completing all of the SQ style sections.

We will run a Live Webinar at the end of February to provide a quick tour of the Platform and also answer any questions you may have.

We see this development as ultimately a positive one - where procurement processes will be simplified, duplication removed and the public sector made more accessible especially to smaller businesses.
