I had written this self care tip few months back which I thought its better to be published as an article... Also few friends asked about Transcendental Meditation and i have included links under section 1
My self-care tip for my friends is to do 3 things every day (or most days)...
1. Mental clarity, awareness and health
Any form of meditation you like or can do; the simpler the better. I practice Transcendental Meditation(TM) - refer links below - from last 3 yrs and I recommend it. I have been doing other types of meditations from 20 yrs (an old article link below). TM helps you go from the active turbulent mind on the surface to the silent mind at the depth. And TM is done twice a day 20 mins in morning and 20 mins in evening.

2.?Physical activity and muscle strength
Any form of exercise which makes you use your muscles to do more than sitting on a chair or watching TV on a couch. Cycling, gym, jogging, pilates, Indian Surya-namaskar, or any sports you like… Simple pushups and more standing than sitting through the day also works. I used my $70 second-hand bicycle for many years and it helps. Now I go to gym 3 days a week. I don't like getting up in the morning and going to gym, but I always come back with a broad grin on face. :) This human mind is very deceptive...
3. Living life on a daily basis and retrospection before you sleep
This starts from zeroing your mind before you go to sleep, forget most, forgive everyone including yourself; just zero your mind…
And keep a journal, with a small list of things, which you need to work daily to achieve your mini goals. If you write these things they will stop nagging your brain. And when you refer them daily you act and you get the benefits of consistency.
That's it, keep doing regularly! :)

2 年Thanks for sharing your wisdom Mahtab Syed - I’ve been reading a book about breathing and realise I’ve been doing it wrong… Now when I do meditation at yoga I’ll follow the instructions properly (there’s always a wise reason why…)
