?? Exciting Times : The Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens Draw is Out! ??
As the draw for this year’s competition is announced, players and staff are beginning to dream big about what’s possible. And yes, do dare to dream—sometimes those dreams come true!
This academic year marks a decade since I experienced two of the most unforgettable days in my teaching career. Standing alongside the brilliant James Hanks, and a truly special group of young men, we achieved something extraordinary in 2015. I still feel incredibly lucky and proud to have played a small part in that team’s success.
I’d like to share my thoughts on the U13 age group - and I should stress this is just my opinion: I would love to see the full competition reinstated. Kids thrive on competition, and winning fosters valuable lessons. While losing is a part of sport that builds character and resilience, harnessing the joy of winning (and losing) can motivate young athletes and enhance their development. I'm a huge believer in mass-participation but surely both can sit alongside each other?
The scale and prestige of the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens is awe-inspiring and deserves celebration. Best of luck to everyone participating next March—preparation is key, and nothing comes easy!
Now, it’s time to head to Merchiston Castle School, Edinburgh to support the Dulwich College 1st XV!
