And the winning fashion designers for InnovaModa 2024 are…

InnovaModa is one of Tijuana Innovadora’s signature events. As a project, we work all year to showcase up-and-coming fashion talent, create connections, and strengthen a collective that has been building for years and hopes to become a fashion cluster.

Every year, InnovaModa holds a contest for professional and emerging designers to let them explore their talent and sharpen their fashion design abilities. At the same time, they try to earn a spot at InnovaModa’s Fashion Show.

The last week of April, the contestants gathered to show their talent and skills on the runway. Casa Frida, a gastronomic experience center set in Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, gave the perfect setting for a picture-perfect afternoon with the pride of Baja in the background.

Professionals in the fashion industry judged the 22 participating designers by working directly in or promoting it. Among the pool of judges were: professional designers Ary Villa, Luis Avilés and Galo Bertín, fashion editor and journalist Melissa Jáuregui, Pilar Manrique from the INTERMODA forum, and representing InnovaModa, Vanessa Ba?uelos.

After an interview with each participant, a revision of the collections, and seeing them walk the showroom, the judges announced their ruling, three winning collections in two categories. For the student category: Carlos Hernández, Jahazari álvarez Samantha Santiago, and Miranda Maldonado, with a team effort collection. And as for the three winners in the professional category: Grecia Soto, Luis Armenta, and Oseas Villatoro.

Congratulations to all the winners. The winning designers and collections will be showcased at the InnovaModa Fashion Show at Casa Frida in Valle de Guadalupe on September 7th.
