Winning Attitude

Friends of our family visited Notre Dame's Stadium where the Fighting Irish play football in Indiana.  During the visit, our friends noted seeing a sign that says "Play Like a Champion Today" in the tunnel that connects the locker room to the stadium and that during each game the players reach up and touch the sign on the way to the field.  This gentle reminder I believe is critical to success; to win in business we need to start every game with the intent to play like a champion.

Notre Dame Head Coach Lou Holtz once said "Ability is what you're capable of doing, Motivation determines what you do.  Attitude determines how well you do it."  Often times I have noticed the difference in my teams performance is deeply rooted in the attitude we have before the game starts and that difference starts with me.  If we play like a champion, our teams will.

Notre Dame is one of the most storied teams on the planet.  The Fighting Irish have one of the highest winning records in college and a record number of Heisman trophy winners.  It's also no surprise they also hold the second highest number of players drafted to the National Football League in the country and are one of the most financially successful programs.  I believe one key attribute to their success on the field is their attitude before they enter the field.  What is yours?  Put the #pentothepaper today and think about how you are playing today.
