AND THE WINNER OF THE OLYMPICS IS... KOSOVO !
Interesting article of French newspaper Le Monde, which ranks the countries participating in the Olympics -not according to the number of medals but- according to the number of medals by number of inhabitants. After all, it's quite predictable that countries like the USA or China with their hundreds of millions of inhabitants would get a huge number of medals. But if one recalculated the same number of medals by taking into account the respective populations, then Kosovo would win, followed by the Fiji islands and New Zealand.
Also interesting is the fact that only gold, silver & bronze medals are currently taken into account; but what if "loser's medals", i.e. medals awarded to those ranked 4th in a competition, were also taken into account? In that case Italy would win, followed by Great Britain and Canada.
