Winner Certificate II Kitchen Operations/Hospitality
Congratulations to Grace for an outstanding effort to achieve this prestigious award.
From Grace's mentor Jenny Gurr
Grace is a passionate student of Hospitality who has recently had the privilege of receiving the award from Australian Technical Chef. She has completed her qualification of Certificate II in Hospitality and as an early commencement student will complete her Higher School Certificate in 2023. Grace is utilizing this time to consolidate her skills and complete her final year of studies.
Her work ethic is strong and she has been committed to learning and evolving her skills in all disciplines (although her true passion lies in Hospitality and her desire to become a pastry/dessert chef). Her experience within the industry has led her on a journey from a home cook to a budding Food Technology student, through to a student of the industry with her part time employment at Brown Sugar. I am confident that she will continue to seek out challenges and opportunities within the Hospitality Industry as to continue her progression.
Grace has been both a passionate student of Food Technology and now more recently of Hospitality. She enjoys the passionate nature of the industry and is keen to continually learn and apply herself to new trends, culinary techniques and foods. She has been a fountain of energy and readily research’s new techniques and dishes as to add to function and regular menus. She is completing a Certificate II in Hospitality and is confidently completed her competency commitments.

Her willingness to apply her developing skills to practical and theoretical components is evident within the quality of tasks she submits and commitment to College function experiences. She has demonstrated a real flair for the industry within our Hospitality Showcase evening and this year has been actively developing our menu for the 2022 Showcase dinner, with its whimsical wonderland theme. Grace also represented the College at this years NSW Training Awards where she qualified as a Finalist within the regional competition in the category of VET student of the Year Award.
Grace is a strong and capable student. She has taken on leadership roles and always fully participates and engages in house activities. She has a bright and bubbly personality which is engaging and well suited to the Hospitality environment. Her personable nature has allowed her to acknowledge and support her peers and she is always willing and able to assist with mentoring of her peers and of younger students.

2 年Well done to the principal and staff of Bishop Tyrrell College for providing the evidence they have the administration, culture, philosophy, passion, and teaching capability to demonstrate they are a primary Australia wide college in hospitality training and education. Employers and intended students should note, Bishop Tyrrell shows it the capacity to develop quality hospitality training and education.
