Winds of change
It's pretty difficult to take a photograph of your right arm, with your left arm, believe me

Winds of change

In almost every part of the world, the?Dragonfly?symbolises change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realisation.

??From an egg to larva to an adult in three clear stages of transformation. The end result, a magnificent, energy efficient flying machine. A lifecycle so perfect that it's been unchanged in 300 million years.

?? 300 million years. Just think about that for a second. If the average human lifespan is 70 years, 300 million years is equal to 4.285 million consecutive human generations. Just mind-blowing.

Whilst I was blogging about rightcoverage growth, example below ??, I realised that I was searching for something myself. Validation? Not sure. I'm going to continue this series of blogs to see where they end up over the next 12 weeks or so.

The dragonfly in the cover image is on my arm. It symbolises a part of my life where I found some level of self realisation. It's been there for the last 8 years.

Self realisation in humans is the absolute trigger for self transformation. Self realisation normally comes with age, or a significant external event.

?? Self realisation in companies is the same - the absolute trigger for transformation - normally always created by external events / competition. I'll be writing more about Digital Transformation over the coming weeks and focussing on some of the projects I've delivered for other companies.

Back to self realisation. As we move through our lives from fresh faced 18 year olds to older humans, we physically change so slowly that when we look in the mirror, changes go past unnoticed. There's rarely a knee jerk, instant moment where we notice change.

Internal changes are even harder to see. We have to really work to understand them. The dragonfly on my arm reminds me of the need to continually look into myself and ask myself what I want and need to be happy.

Everyone changes on the inside. This is my way of reminding myself to look at those internal changes, as often as I can. To regularly continue on that journey of self realisation. Every business, and human, should do the same.

Stay safe out there, and stay tuned for further, more business focussed blogs over the next 12 weeks.

A nice way to reflect / realise milestones - great to see your story progressing in an interesting way. We all have milestones, but do we reflect, review, reference them for the future? Perhaps not, perhaps we do.
