When you consider the dimensions of modern?wind turbines, it quickly becomes clear that they are complex constructions with heights of up to 200 metres. The?maintenance?of a single wind turbine therefore takes at least one day, especially if it is located on the high seas (offshore) and access is difficult.

A wind turbine is usually serviced once or twice a year. Clear and?secure communication to the control desk on the mainland?is crucial. However, as there is not always network coverage on the high seas, communication is a challenge.
A connection from the control desk to the maintenance teams at the wind turbines is made possible by permanently installed?Intercom stations?at the base, in the nacelle and on the platforms of the tower of a wind turbine, as well as via?radio?and?telephone. Of particular importance is the question:?How can everything be connected and how does the SOS chain work?

Digital radio systems such as?Tetra?or?DMR?can be seamlessly integrated and provide effective communication to maintenance teams, ships, helicopters but also rescue services.
