For a many years, AppLocker and then Windows Defender Application Control have allowed business customers to protect their users from untrusted and unwanted apps. Well - I say it has allowed business customers to do that, but very few actually use it. The fact that so many ransomware attacks have taken place over the past few years are proof of that!
Until now, this capability has not been possible for home users.
With all fresh installs of Windows 11 22H2, Smart App Control will be enabled in Evaluation mode to allow it to determine if the user is a "good fit" for Smart App Control.
By "good fit" we mean... not a corporate user, someone who regularly runs lots of downloaded apps, or a developer, I guess.
