End of Support for Windows 10: Windows 10 will reach its end of life in October 2025. This means that after this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for Windows 10, making it crucial for businesses to upgrade to Windows 11 to maintain security and functionality.
Benefits of Upgrading to Windows 11: Windows 11 offers several advantages over Windows 10, including a modern design, improved performance, and new features such as support for Android apps and enhanced security measures. These improvements can help businesses stay competitive and secure in the digital landscape.?
Hardware Requirements for Windows 11: Upgrading to Windows 11 does come with more stringent hardware requirements compared to Windows 10. Businesses need to ensure their devices meet these requirements or consider replacing older hardware. This includes having a compatible processor, sufficient RAM, and secure boot capabilities.?
Importance of Early Planning: To avoid a last-minute scramble and potential supply shortages, businesses should start planning their upgrades now. This involves assessing current hardware, budgeting for new equipment if necessary, and scheduling the upgrade process to minimise disruption. (it may be unlikely, but I would expect laptop shortages and price rises before win10 EOL)

Cybersecurity and Compliance: Upgrading to Windows 11 is not just about new features; it’s also about maintaining cybersecurity and compliance. With the increasing sophistication of cyber threats, staying on a supported and secure operating system is essential for protecting sensitive data and maintaining business continuity.
Support and Resources: Highlight the resources available to businesses for making this transition, such as IT support services, training for employees, and detailed guides on the upgrade process. Emphasize that starting early will allow for a smoother transition and better preparation for any challenges that may arise. Windows 11 has been out for a couple of years now, and a majority of software is supported.
How can CNC help?: CNC can supply new hardware but also offer a responsible disposal and recycling solution for old hardware. There is an eco/green aspect of Microsoft forcing billions of old computers into obsolescence. CNC works closely with charities that upcycle where possible or recycle and recover precious metals.
Side notes: Hardware compatibility: if your PC is from 2017 or prior, it is unlikely to support Win11.
