Windows 10 will be the last version of the Windows client operating system, if you haven't heard by now. Microsoft will be updating this operating system periodically with brand-new features, interface changes, and even the look and feel of the desktop. These updates have been released several times, and usually are given a marketing name. So a lot of people have heard of the Anniversary Update, the Creators Update, etc. The latest update will soon be upon us, it is known as the Fall Creators Update, which will be released on 17 October 2017
You can't check your computer to directly figure out which marketing name version you're on. You have to use the version number to tell. The version number is written as a 4 digit YYMM construct. You can see version number--and other info--by going to the "About" page in the "System" node of the Settings app, as shown in the picture. Or more simply, to get directly to this page, just right-click the Start menu icon and select "System".
