Open Letter to Microsoft & Bill Gates, Thanks for making life that bit more bloody annoying than it needed to be !!!
Windows 10 PCs do more. Just like you.
Windows 10 powers some of the fastest, most innovative devices on the planet. It's the most personal, feature rich, useful Windows ever and leads the way in productivity and performance - helping you, to do more. With a familiar feel and an experience that's now even safer and more secure, there's never been a better time to buy a new Windows PC.
Dear Microsoft,
It’s true that your Co has given much to help a lot of the world’s population and Bill Gates gives an extraordinary amount of his vast wealth out to good causes.
However I and probably numbering into millions wonder what happened to Microsoft after XP ??? Windows 7 was just about OK !
Then we got the unadulterated crap which was Windows 8 & 8.1 I bought a HP tower PC about 18 months ago from a large retail outfit here in the UK.
The first and subsequent times Windows 10 so-called upgrade was downloaded caused my PC to throw a wobbler. The Anniversary update finished that machine off and is still cocking it up now.
It was OK though so I was told by MS staff because it would revert to my original settings!! Yeah it did and kept on doing so every bloody time until I got that brassed off that I bought another PC, because my work comes through my website and I deliver quotes etc to clients via e-mail.
That is difficult to do if your machine keeps going belly -up because of the laughingly named OS or operating system.
Are Microsoft aware that to be called an operating system the damn thing must actually work??? Not bugger up every few days or so. Bearing in mind the updates can’t be stopped.
Microsoft may think that Windows 10 is brilliant & great but I bet there are millions who would disagree.
I went and bought another PC, Windows 10 included all ready to go, between Hewlett Packard & Microsoft = the manufacturer & operating system I have now had the absolute worse sodding time ever trying to migrate my information from one PC to another, this should be a simple operation and in this case totally annoying as if the OS worked I wouldn’t need a new machine.
My brand-new HP has had remote intervention from HP and Microsoft staff a few times from both Co’s conclusion there is something wrong with both the PC and the operating system. The new HP has a stupid piddling SSD of 118 GB which is useless and filled up by tons of crap from Windows updating Windows 10 .
Windows 10 has so far stopped Edge working the control panel and Cortana, Microsoft’s staff solution to this, make another profile ignoring the fact that all my work etc is on the original profile.
What I want is to pay for something and it works, not to be given reams of links that would make a computer geeks head spin & fall off.
I know far more about computers than I wish to know, however to me it is a tool and it should work without me having to perform all sorts of weird & wonderful.
I have now exhausted all the avenues and am waiting on the retail Co to exchange for another PC which will not be a Hewlett Packard, a puny 118 GB SSD = this is rubbish, I have lost time & money enough of the latter to buy a very expensive PC.
I also have lost face having to explain to clients that I’m having trouble migrating from one PC to another a simple operation which should be so easy but isn’t.
So Microsoft Last year I wrote to Satya Narayana Nadella without getting a reply, I know how surprising is that !!! perhaps he was overwhelmed by the bus loads of post & digital torrent of complaints.
Windows 10 is full of bugs, the look and feel of the desktop is annoying, as the control panel is the key to the main programs, mine doesn’t work along with most likely millions of others.
I may be lucky = third time lucky with yet another machine, but we shouldn’t have to put up with this crap, Microsoft should think about it’s customer base, we are losing money & time and clients because we are forced to use their system.
Please don’t start telling me of the ways I can bolt on and use other OS , my main work is restoring Victorian tiled floors , I use a website & e-mail , I am as green with my work approach as possible. I don’t want to learn anymore about computers I just want the thing to work end of .
We are being let down by Microsoft if they weren’t such a huge Co this would affect them and someone in management would do something instead of which I and other small businesses who can’t afford to lose so much time & money and buying new PC’s we all lose out.
Microsoft get a grip and own up and get this mess of Windows 10 sorted you make enough money from us to do so.

8 年I ignored the urging by Microsoft to change to Windows 10 until I decided to go for it. It took ages, but finally I got my home page and read an email. Then my computer crashed completely. With help from Dell in India, everything possible was tried to start my laptop, and finally it was decided to reload Windows 7 using a new disc which was supplied. I lost a great deal of data that was with the original Windows 7 setup.
