The Window of Opportunity
From the time we are born, the window of opportunity starts slowing. This is not some pessimistic view of life, it's realty.
We have open windows of opportunity every day.
The opportunity to be kind.
The opportunity to listen and understand.
The opportunity to become better in every way.
Even in hard and uncertain times the window is open to you.
You can learn from your mistakes.
You can find out what you're made of.
You can discover a new path.
Think of all the opportunities you's shrug off and say, "They'll be there tomorrow." Maybe and maybe not. Today's open window of opportunity is tomorrows locked door. We all miss out. We all miss our chance. We can't catch every opportunity like Pokémon but we can cut down on the one's we miss.
The key to opportunity is, as Ra's al Ghul said to Batman in Batman Begins, "Always pay attention to your surroundings."
Pay attention to others rather than yourself. See others as the key to opportunity in every circumstance. Don't dismiss an opportunity just because it does not directly benefit you.
The Apostle Paul said it best when he wrote,
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit [through factional motives, or strife], but with [an attitude of] humility [being neither arrogant nor self-righteous], regard others as more important than yourselves. - Philippians 2:3 Amplified.
The window is closing. Death has his hand on the sill. Take every opportunity you can grab t make someone else's life better and your life will improve.

4 年Nice article. My biggest self-imposed hurdle is Phil 2:3. That's the attitude required, however, to find those meaningful opportunities.
