Winding Down

As the summer ends, my internship shortly follows behind. This past summer has been an incredible contribution to my professional development in multiple ways.
Adobe Premiere Pro has been a highlight that can't be overlooked. Going into my internship, my goal was to gain fluidity throughout the program, and I can certainly say that the goal was fulfilled. My basic video production class was the perfect entryway to the program, and throughout the internship, I had the opportunity to really dig deep into what it had to offer.
YouScience has also been on my mind since I was able to take their aptitudes test a few weeks ago. I've been reflecting on that experience as I look into what my next step may be following my internship and beginning my senior year at WTAMU. I have enjoyed seeing how each of those results seamlessly play into my everyday life.
My mock interview with Ady Weatherly was a fantastic experience that I'm really looking forward to carrying over into a real world situation. Having a professional interview with someone in my field was refreshing, especially since this is still a "new" path for me. Her words of encouragement throughout the process and feedback in shaping my résumé are something I will certainly appreciate for a long time.

On the note of being in a new field, creating my portfolio for my time in college was a valuable opportunity for self-reflection. I was able to see how far my work has come, not only regarding quality and professionalism, but also in terms of the depth of knowledge and skills I've gained along the way. It was empowering to go back to the projects that kickstarted my journey.
This summer has been a huge blessing and I'm extremely grateful for those who helped me along the way. Emily S. Kinsky, Ph.D. was a huge help in so many areas and I can't begin to express my appreciation. Brian Rathbone has been a huge part of my success in gaining familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro and has also been a great source of information and advice in the world of professional video production.
I am eager to put the tips I’ve learned over the summer into practice, wherever my next steps may lead me!
