Wind up instead of wind down at Mid-Life
I'm 56 years old, getting ready to be 57 in a couple weeks. Science indicators show us?medical advancements will enable us to live longer, possibly 100 years of age will be commonplace. I'm pulling for you to make it!?
Some of us are still caught up, though, in a midlife or halftime?of de-escalation. We are?headed to retirement or winding things down.?
Why? What about a different type of wind up???
After all, I started a podcast when I was 52, wrote a book 54, and launched my first business at 45 (And by the way, I should have waited that long). But, in a way there is more energy than ever now.
Life margin provides more time for mindfulness, richer relationships and new life experiences.
So I challenge you to explore the potential and possibility richness moving ahead during a mid-life journey of relevance and joy. A life just a little different.

So how do you start? How do you make the adjustments in the second half of life? Like all the great coaches do, by making adjustments. For example:
Apply professional experiences to industries you are passionate about. I'm applying business development experiences to motor racing by helping teams, drivers and tracks connect with businesses. It's really no different than the last thirty years, just a different industry ecosystem.
Invest in new personal relationships. My wife and I will soon follow our youngest daughter during the collegiate softball season. This will be a new experience with so many new people. I'm looking forward to new acquaintances in different places. Besides, I've got 50 plus years of stories, jokes, and experiences to share with a new audience (or victims)!
Evolve existing friendships and professional networks. It is a joy to speak with colleagues about a new life station. Your established business network now has new opportunities for collaboration.
So if you have increasing grey hair at the temples look at the opportunities of a relaunch by taking all you've learned and applying different ways. And, you don't need to change jobs to do it! My hope is you will have new energy, relevance and happiness.
