The Wind Scale of Fear

The Wind Scale of Fear

We do not see wind but see its effect. The stronger the wind gets the more we observe its physical effects. The Beaufort scale relates?wind speed?to observed conditions at sea or on land. Its full name is the?Beaufort wind force scale.

One example is gale. This refers to strong winds with velocity reaching up to 63 miles per hour. The force this wind creates is enough that if you misstruck shot can turn on you like a rogue boomerang according to Merriam-Webster.

Fear too is analogous to winds. If fear sweeps us too fast or develops into phobia can have damaging effect on our health and performance. Like the wind that we may see easily the damages it causes, fear can too cause us more damage if it becomes very strong.

One particular effect of fear that I find worthy of highlighting is that fear can make us foggy. This fear, the cerebral cortex (area of the brain that harnesses reasoning and judgment) becomes?impaired — so now it is difficult to make good decisions or think clearly.?

Fear and Mind Performance

The above discussions reveals that the stronger the force of fear is the greater the effect on the declining performance of the mind shall be. This is not a linear relationship but rather a complex one.

One particular performance is the spontaneity performance of the mind. If fear that sweeps us is lime a breeze then it refreshes the mind and enhances its spontaneity performance.

If the wind of fear is very forceful, the drop in the performance of the mind shall lead to that if you misstruck shot can turn on you like a rogue boomerang. The damage becomes heavy.

The dynamics of fear-mind performance relationship is not as simple as one might think.

I am writing this post in reply to the great discussions on my last post “Spontaneity Balancing”. In particular, I refer mainly the exchanges of thoughts between Leslie Flowers and Charlotte Wittenkamp on how fear influences spontaneity, as we grow older.

Is there a need to develop The Beaufort fear force scale of fear as will?

There is one Ali Anani, PhD! What an intriguing post. Apologies for delayed response to another gem! There is the opposite… the Faith force. Only one prevails at a time and fear dominates, regardless of speed. Fear as winds in a windy location Dominate the mind. Until wind becomes normal or comforting and the default. Faith needs no scale. It’s challenging to build yet when we do, Fear takes a back seat.

Thank you my friends Raed AL-Taji AL-Farouki (???? ????????) and Wadood Rana for your repost. Thank you my friend Leslie Flowers also for sharing the post with a powerful introduction

To quote Leslie Flowers, what you resist persists. Reading Mika Zadok Dubai's comment, this was brought back in that we don't want to feel these feelings and rather than letting them wash through us, we fight them. Normally we don't win that fight. Much can be said for just saying out loud "I am afraid/nervous/anxious... because ..." and voicing this means also noticing that the fear is probably specific towards something - even if that something is unknown. Voicing it also means that we can more easily catch ourselves when we catastrophize what needs not be all that bad. Usually the last part of the catastrophe is "and then they will not like me", a fear of losing belonging. So much more reason to build up solid relationship networks where we will still belong even if some of the things we fear come true.

Excellent comparison, dear Ali Anani. If there was no wind at all, there would be no life on earth, so it is with fears, they warn, they prevent madness, they teach us. One of the things that unites all mankind is fear, no religion, no country ,no skin color. It unites and separates, because many sufferings and conflicts arise from fear that we will be left without water, land, freedom... fear that we will be left alone, that we will be stupid. Many are still from the caves, some disappear if we play with ourselves and win, some appear and have not been there all their lives. If we see our fears, we can break them down and turn them into atoms of fear that will no longer suffocate and sweat us. They can make us be creative and, well, spontaneous, because fear is something both so close and so far, but it can always jump out at us. The prince of fears, that of death, can grow if we stick to the material concept of life and can be the natural companion of that moment. Dealing with the fear of death, as much as we can, can be another adventure trip that we may or may not remember. Dignity in old age is awareness of the universal plan, and yes, it concerns only us, creepiness and beauty in one extremely intimate act.

Fear first what is it alarm , angst , anxiety apprehension awe concern despair dismay doubt dread horror jitter panic suspicion terror unease worry anticipate are all this a caused for stress and nervous breakdown yes , then the second aspect is fear of the unknown why do we fear something we don't know and can't even control like fights flights freeze and fawn most of this mentioned are controllable some are Mirage's the moment you allow fear to take control it makes you inactive and paralysis your thinking ability and made you to make so many mistakes God didn't gives us the spirit of fear timidity but of power and sound mind having the capacity to think reason and understand of oneself . fear is not a bad thing per say it help us identify and avoid threats to our safety if allowed to control you will cause more harm than good or lead to death. Sign of fear fast heart rate shortness of breath sweating chills trembling. All this can lead to death if care is not taken. How to overcome . face them one by one . Thanks
