Wind of Change: Fasal Draws Attention at KVK Narayangaon, Pune

Shri Sharad Chandra Pawar during his recent visit to Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Narayangaon, Pune. The technology as demonstrated by the members of KVK and farmer testimonies has reinforced the confidence that Pawarji had on Fasal when the Agricultural Development Trust Baramati, KVK Baramati partnership was first signed.

Revolutionizing Farming with IoT and AI

Fasal, a pioneer in the IoT-led tech revolution in farming, has been closely working with farmers since 2018. Its proprietary technology makes use of 12 sensors that feed 1.2 billion data points into the cloud which are then analyzed to provide crop-specific and crop-stage-specific actionable advisories to the farmers. Fasal’s AI-based crop research models have been instrumental in helping farmers increase their ROI by up to 2X.

Impactful Collaboration with KVK Narayangaon

KVK Narayangaon had partnered with Fasal for grape farming, as part of their mission to enhance productivity by leveraging AI for effective use of resources. The visit of Hon. Shri Sharad Pawar, Shri Amol Kolhe (MP - Shirur), Shri Satyashil Sherkar (President - Vighnahar Sugar Cooperative Ltd.), Shri Devdutta Nikam (Ex-Chairman - APMC Manchar) at the KVK provided an ideal platform to showcase the transformative impact of this collaboration.

Shri Anil Meher (Chairman - KVK Narayangaon), Shri Prashant Shete (Head - KVK Narayangaon), and Shri Vaibhav Shinde (Agronomist - KVK Narayangaon) elaborated to the audience on how Fasal’s AI-driven technology works towards increasing the productivity of farmers through precision farming. The presentation backed with authentic user data and feedback kindled a keen interest in the listeners, which led to an engaging Q&A session followed by a live app demo.

Future Initiatives

The event concluded with two significant proposals from the KVK:

1. GI Tag Status for Shivneri Alphonso (mango grown in Junnar, Ambegaon Tehsil).??
2. Funds allocation for spreading the use of technology in Precision Farming.??
