Win Your First Coffee Meeting: A 5-Day Networking Plan

Win Your First Coffee Meeting: A 5-Day Networking Plan

In just 5 days, you'll have the opportunity to launch your career to the next level and expand your network. ??

This journey is designed specifically for ambitious professionals who are actively working to grow their network.

This process works. If you implement what's below in 5 days you'll see transformation.

?? Day 1: Find Your Networking Event

The first step is to find the perfect networking event tailored to your industry. If you're here you already have a LinkedIn profile. Whether it's directly searching for events on LinkedIn, exploring posts from influential individuals, or utilizing platforms like Eventbrite, the goal —is to find the ideal networking event that aligns with your goals.

(Hint: If you're in commercial real estate in Orlando, we have a networking event for Contractors Closers and Connections coming up on July 19th. You can register here: https://cccorlando.net/events/july-ceus/)

?? Day. 2: Strategic Research

Days before the networking event, dive into strategic research. LinkedIn event pages have proved to be a goldmine of information, including the list of registered attendees. I have numerous times leveraged this opportunity to identify three key individuals who possessed the expertise and opportunities I was seeking. These connections are instrumental in propelling your career forward. Learn who they are, what they do, and prepare questions to ask for the event.

?? Day 3: Proactive Connection

Don't wait for the event to start building relationships. Take the initiative and connect with your identified individuals before the gathering. Reach out to them via LinkedIn, expressing your excitement about the event and suggesting a meetup during the occasion. By initiating contact beforehand, you have laid the groundwork for meaningful interactions.

?? Day 4 or EVENT DAY: Make Every Conversation Count

As you mingle at the networking event, make it a point to make every conversation count. Engage with your chosen connections and others who catch your interest. After each interaction, quickly jot down key takeaways on their business cards or in your phone notes. These notes will prove invaluable in the following steps.

?? Day 5: Provide Value in Your Follow-Up

Now comes the crucial moment—the follow-up. Utilize the information gathered during your conversations to craft personalized and impactful messages. The number one piece of advice I can give you is to add value to the person. Don't just set out to take something but think of ways YOU can help THEM.

Use this template as a starting point:

"Hey [Name],

It was great seeing you at the [Name of Event]. Witnessing so many professionals gather to discuss [Your Industry] was truly inspiring.

I recall our conversation about [Person or Interest], and I believe that [Person or Thing] I know would be valuable to you.

Are you available for coffee or lunch this week? I'd love to continue the discussion.

Best,

[Your Name]"

By providing value and demonstrating your attentiveness, you have set yourself apart from the crowd and left a lasting impression.

In just one working week, you successfully secured your first coffee meeting and already elevated your network.

Get ready to unlock doors of opportunity, expand your influence, and take your career to new heights—all within a 5-day time frame.

Are you ready to transform your business?
