Win-Wire Template

Win-Wire Template

Here's a simple suggestion to help share wins within your company, which can help everyone learn about new customers and get some ideas of how they can win their own opportunities. I've usually seen these e-mails referred to as "win-wires".

Ask your sales team to celebrate each win by using this template and email it to the rest of the sales team and the marketing team:

Deal Summary:

  • Customer: <name>
  • Offering Sold: <name of the product/solution/offering>
  • End User/Program: <the division within the larger customer and/or the project name where the solution will be used>
  • Value: <Explain the value they’ll get or an estimated ROI>
  • Summary: <a few sentences that explain the deal>
  • Team Members: <list out who helped, because everyone likes to be recognized>

Marketing Opportunity:

  • Contract: <Explain if the contract includes their agreement to participate in marketing efforts>
  • Contact: <Who should marketing contact for follow up on marketing efforts, such as a Case Study doc or blog post?>
  • Brand Impact: <Explain if using their name/brand will be positive in a specific market or industry>
  • Marketing Details: <Note if you've already discussed co-marketing with them, if there are any time-bound details to consider, etc.>

Is there anything else you as your team to share in your own win-wires?

Great post- I am adding a few of the items to our checklist. We are trying to get more strategic about what to share in win-wires. Too little information, it is not so useful. Too much, it gets overlooked. We are thinking that we should have a quick tl;dr/summary at the top with a few bullets and then the full details below. ie: 1) X Company was facing A issue. 2) Was challenged by X,Y, Z. 3) Company brought in us because of B. 4) The result was C, D and E. Then they go into the details below. I would love your feedback on if you think this quick summary at the top is useful?

Great summary Brian. We and our clients use smartvideonotes to capture win wires in 60 seconds, by answering a set of questions like you have outlined. We then link it back into Salesforce.com and also make it searchable for trend analytics :-)
