Hello,
I've been feeling a slight bit of dread lately.
My job is to help leaders and teams prepare for the future. But the future is becoming increasingly uncertain.
This is mainly fueled by the immense acceleration that we are seeing in the AI space.
How do we prepare people when we don't know what jobs are going to exist in the next few years?
According to Goldman Sachs, 300 million jobs could be disrupted worldwide.
At some point becoming a software developer seemed like the best bet, now AI can code better and faster than most.
Graphic designer? AI will do it.
Copywriter? AI will do it.
Author? AI will do it.

Accountants, lawyers, doctors, teachers, everyone will have their turn in the firing line.
So, again, how do we prepare for this?
There is a lot more to say.
But for the sake of brevity, let me end on this.
Our success in the future depends on our ability to swiftly shift our thinking and actions as required.
Therefore, practice being adaptable and increase your learning cycles.
Here's to building better teams,
Erik//

I recently shared the below graphic with them from the World Economic Forums report on the Future of Jobs which illustrates current labour shortages in Europe. My eldest immediately comes back with "I guess we all gonna be builders then!". I promptly reminded her that they are already 3D printing buildings. Here is the insightful report: https://www3.weforum.org/docs/WEF_Future_of_Jobs_2023.pdf
