Everybody is afraid of something or the other, but the fear factor is always there in our mind. Fear, or so called phobia are not developed in a day but they are cultivated over a period of time since childhood. There has to be a long and sustained involvement with the fear producing condition for a sufficient amount of time so that there are permanent changes in the structure of the brain. Once it is established, then there is no looking back. It continues to haunt the individual. Fear usually has its origin in childhood. Improper family background, continuous unrest in the family, bereavement in early childhood, and so on.
Some people know it as a terrible gnawing, oppressive spectre, forever prowling in the pit of their stomach. Others are more familiar with the fluttering butterfly flying in stomach type of effect that can keep a person on edge for days on end. What we all know is that it's ever present, in our homes, our neighbourhoods and our workplaces, slowly diminishing our lives, and hindering many of us from happily living our dreams. You start off with a tiny concern about getting a small parking ticket. It embeds itself in your gut and grows, and before long, you're scared of losing your job and your partner for no good reason. Recognise the infectiousness of fear, it really goes on hurting inside.
Fear actually lowers our positive vibes. It closes on our hearts, fogs up our minds, and makes us think small. On the other hand, courage and faith raise our vibration, open our hearts, and inspire us to reach for the stars. When you stand on the edge of a cliff before you are lowered into the valley on the ropes for your rock climbing session, try to chant 'I will not fear' in mantra-like fashion can do you no good because it is a negative type of chant. On the other hand, if we focus too much on fear, we may soon begin to fear fear itself! Therefore always, choose positive affirmations like, I am strong! I have confidence! I can over come fear and I am a winner.
Imagine what happens where you are supposed to go jumping from a high flying aeroplane without a parachute opening you get all those butterflies turning into fear monster but the moment you realise that you are having a free fall and before you actually start falling down you keep floating in the air and finally the parachute opens mid air and you feel you are not afraid anymore to bungee jumping. It is only that one moment of fear that you need to overcome to be able to bungee jump and then it becomes so easier.
We can't even begin to count the numerous thoughts that float through our minds on a daily basis, but what we do know is that we can move from laughter to tears in a flash, all because of some errant thought that has no place in our lives. Learn to control your thoughts and you automatically control your destiny! If you don't feel comfortable in a situation, remove or detach yourself from it. In the same way that chickens know when a meteorological storm is brewing, our instincts tells us when trouble is on the horizon. Raising our consciousness can be our best defence and therefore raise your antenna of fear whenever you are going to be soon hit by the fear storm so that you become prepared how to deal with it. Stay blessed! #kishoreshintre
