Wilful Blindness

The “deliberate avoidance of knowledge of the facts” or “purposeful indifference” and have held that wilful blindness is the equivalent of actual knowledge.

Example 1: Your colleague is sharing password with one of your peers and you did not speak-up then it is a wilful blindness.

Example 2: You are a bank employee and you have wealthy customer. You do not want to loose him as his accounts is filling up 15% of your bank deposits. He is trying to understand the whole banking system; He asks you about thresholds, he asks you about how you deal with dormant accounts, he asks you about suspense accounts in your bank, he asks you about Letter of Credits, Bank Guarantees etc. and to please him you have replied everything he asked. What do you think isn't it wilful blindness? Isn't it true that you know he may use this information as banking loophole some day. Don't you know that he is eligible to know that much till the extent of the relationship he has with the bank, Why is he interested in other banking information?

Be careful don't be a victim of wilful blindness.
