The Wild Ride called US Job Market.

The Wild Ride called US Job Market.

It’s been a few days since I went Green on LinkedIn.

In all my years of working across four continents with top-tier sport and fashion brands, I've never encountered so much confusion, frustration, and did I mention confusion? Let me break it down for you:

Over the past month, I've been through the wringer – interviews, weeks of ghosting, rejections, more interviews, and last minute hiring freezes. Talk about a wild ride.

The US job market right now? It's like a rollercoaster on steroids – sharp turns, tons of edges and curves, and some serious ups and downs. And honestly, it's hard to make sense of it all.

First up, the Overcapacity Hiring Crisis. Companies are shedding employees left and right, especially post-pandemic overhiring. It's like a domino effect, with tech companies leading the charge.

Then there's the headache of Outdated HR Software. Ever tried navigating Workday? It's like stepping back in time, with dropdown menus galore and redundant data entry. Not exactly a walk in the park.

And don't even get me started on ATS Software Woes. It's like trying to crack a secret code just to get noticed. You end up tweaking your resume a million times, hoping something sticks.

Ethical Dilemmas? Yep, those too. Spending ages on interviews only to have hiring manager vanish into thin air? Been there, done that. I believe in HR with a human touch – a simple call to explain decisions goes a long way.

And then there's Networking. It's a necessary evil, but sometimes it feels like you need to know everyone and their grandma to land a job. But hey, let your skills do the talking, right?

Sure, the job market feels like climbing a cliff blindfolded at night. Imposter syndrome creeps in, making you doubt yourself. But you know what? You've got what it takes. Keep your head up, keep searching, and trust that your time will come. You're a rockstar in the making!

Was casually reading this, not realizing I got a shout out! I’m so honored thank you so much ?? Having been through the wild ride myself 3 months ago, I feel for everyone having to navigate this insane market. It’s been super heartbreaking seeing so many truly talented individuals unable to find jobs. I really hope the market turns around for everyone soon. Much kudos to you for spreading some much needed positivity during this difficult time!
