WIL Champions: Grant Tonne

Jonathan Tonne is the owner of J.Grant Insurance . His first career was professional hockey until the age of 18, after which he worked retail for several years before working in insurance at Liberty Mutual. Grant is a UTD Alumni, graduating with his degree in Marketing. In 2018, he started his business and is still going strong.?“If your insurance can’t, Call J.Grant!" #womeninleadership #WIL

The WIL Committee has asked Champions throughout our community to discuss topics on Leadership. Below is Grant's response discussing?supporting female leaders.

I support female leaders because?I was raised by the strongest?female leader, my mom. My?mom, sister, and my wife are leaders and set an example of leadership far beyond others?I have met in my life. Its important to have strong leaders in your life and I am thankful for having met several throughout mine and look forward to meeting several others. I naturally have made friends with women over the years, usually becoming friends with me first, before coming best friends with my wife after meeting her.?

Female leaders are paving the way in business, culture and our community every day for other girls and boys to follow.

Leadership?doesn’t bend to variables like sex or race. Being apart of Women in Leadership has allotted me the opportunity to meet several leaders that will help my shape my future and for that I am thankful.?

The mission of Women in Leadership at the Richardson Chamber of Commerce is to inspire, influence and champion women as they grow into their roles as business leaders in our community.

Women in Leadership hosts events, open to the public, to give women a chance to develop their network and hear from leaders in business and the community. Check our?calendar?for all upcoming Richardson Chamber events. WIL hosts the following:

• Quarterly luncheons?feature a keynote presentation aimed at building leaders
• Women4Women?networking?events are held in the evening at Richardson businesses and feature short presentations on professional and personal empowerment
• Holiday Vendor Fair?is held in the 4th quarter and is an opportunity for local vendors to share their products and services with the community
