AI services like ChatGPT have got me thinking about how we access information, and how this could change in the near future. That change is certainly coming but the way we access data and answer questions has only been the norm for a few decades – before Google, we used books and encyclopedias in our quest for knowledge. TI recently spoke to the man behind Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales, about how chatbots could transform his infamous online encyclopedia. Wales also talked about legislation that could hamper how we use the internet, and Wikipedia's own challenges at creating a gender-balanced workforce. It is also a year since the terrible events that kicked of Russia's invasion of Ukraine - the ongoing war has had a far-reaching impact not just on the people it has sadly displaced, but also on the global economy and more specifically on tech supply lines. On this sad anniversary, we look at some of the impact that the Russian invasion has had on the tech sector.
