Wigmore Lakes
Wigmore Lakes was established a few years ago from land that was previously used for farming - the owners were looking to diversify into leisure and tourism, so they turned the land over to a fishing lake.
Working on the success generated by the venture, planning consent was obtained for lodges, touring caravans and camping. The proposal was to develop the fishing lake area to capitalise on the demand for holidays within the area.
Solution
Wigmore Lakes teamed up with OPDS for technical park development and Omar Park & Leisure Homes for the supply of lodges.
OPDS worked closely with the owners and advised on various accepts of the development, including planning advice, road construction and a bio-mass heating system.
Results
Wigmore Lakes started developing the park in in late 2013, with fishing lakes, wildlife trails and all the amenities you’d expect from a luxury lodge park. Completed in early 2014, on time and importantly on budget.
The luxury lodges are kitted out with all the facilities you could need to make a stay special, including an open-plan kitchen and lounge, luxury furnishings and even patio doors leading to outdoor hot tubs!
OPDS worked with Hoseasons Holidays and have helped Wigmore Lakes to secure 6 months of upfront holiday bookings – PRIOR TO OPENING!

7 年What I love about Omar lodges is the sheer diversity of design styles. From the classic lodge above to really smart modern styles, they ooze quality. I wish I had bought one instead of a Tingdene! Just in case anyone is wondering, no I don't represent Omar in any way, although I admit it would not be difficult to be an ambassador for this company. A major plus about Omar is the sheer quality of the fixtures and fittings, something which can be lacking from other companies. Buying a lodge is a significant investment usually, so I would want anyone considering it to hear me when I say that Omar is the best in my opinion. I just love lodge living and if I had my way I would start over with an Omar. So this is a genuine testimonial from a lodge owner (x2) of 13 years standing. Well done to Omar!
