Wiggly Buns (Simplified Prototype)

This is a quick set-up in Huoudini. These little red buddies may look like spheres, but they are actually hemispheres with flattened bottoms. They kind of look like Chinese buns up close.

This setup is a simplified prototype to help out a student's project that includes mochi. In the end, they are intended to be soft, squishy, and out to flood your screen. At a distance and scale like this with other visual elements in the background, and when time is running out, I usually advise my students to bring down the priority to do a soft-body deformation set-up task on this.

There is some thinking that went into specifying start-end points for each agent in this mass migration. There was also some effort to keep each bun apart from its neighbour.

Painting them red actually gives a festive mood. Reminds me of the Lunar New Year that has just ended. A pity this wasn't in time for that. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy them.
