Wiggl from home: Hybrid workspaces are trending up!
When the two-week, stay-at-home ordinance was announced, we all assumed life would eventually resume, much the same as it had before. As we know, that was not the case.?
In a recent article published by the U.S. Census Bureau, we read that statistics show, “the number of people primarily working from home tripled between 2019 and 2021.” While the reasons for switching to a remote or hybrid workspace vary circumstantially for both employer and employee, what we do know is that the hybrid workspace is here to stay.?
As healthcare providers, the question we sought to answer was, “What new tools do we need to start utilizing as we transition into the new hybrid workspace?” The answer we found is that it’s less about hardware, and it’s more about software - the “programs” that we’re running on our physical bodies, every day as we go about our work.?
Let’s be honest with ourselves: a majority of physical issues originating from the workplace are not truly from picking up a box or playing soccer; it’s from being static for long periods of time. For the better part of the decade, we’ve been giving employees access to better equipment in efforts to fight the war on ergonomic injury, but not the access to help them get, and stay, out of pain. Here’s the problem with that: equipment is static, but the body is dynamic.
