Atlantic Hurricane Updates
Hurricane Francine has developed in the Gulf of Mexico. It is expected to strengthen to Category 2 status and will likely make landfall in Louisiana.

This Week In Hurricane History
We are in the peak portion of The Atlantic Hurricane season. For the historical week of 9/8 to 9/15, The National Hurricane Center shows 14 Hurricanes have historically made landfall within those dates. Most notable are Hurricane #2 in 1919 (CAT 3 - Texas), Hurricane Donna in 1960 (CAT 3 - Florida), Hurricane Betsy in 1965 (CAT 3 - Florida), and Hurricane Florence in 2018 (CAT 1 at landfall - SC, but caused major flooding in SC, NC & VA).
