Why Zapier is good for only smaller businesses?

In today’s experience-driven era, entrepreneurs are under constant pressure to find effective solutions to grow their business like never before. Proper tracking of finances & expenses, strategic planning of reports, estimating daily transactions and management or administrative services are some of the common challenges that entrepreneurs face today.
Here tools like Zapier come into the picture. Zapier is a smart tool that solves the problem of data silos in business applications. Imagine customer data spread across CRM and ERP that need to be kept in sync, or data synchronization between marketing and CRM systems. The main differences between the systems are target customers and hence go-to-market strategy. Zapier is more suitable for smaller businesses using primarily cloud/SaaS, with lower expectations about the integration depth, hence lower integration value.
But what happens when these businesses scale. Can Zapier compete with individual developers in providing high-value integrations?
This is hardly possible. High-value integrations are highly complex, so handling it by an average business user is hardly possible. More comprehensive iPaaS and hybrid integration platforms are more for medium to large size businesses, more in-depth use-cases involving cloud & on-prem integrations.
So, what alternatives does a smaller business have, that is scaling but doesn't have money to buy iPaaS solutions?
These businesses can customize the Zapier plugins called Zaps according to their business needs. This can suffice for the current problems and get the business running.
