Why You're Stressed & Tired + A Practical Solution

Does this ring true for you?

You’re a hard worker. 

You want to do well. 

But you get tired, feel fatigued, harness guilt, anger or resentment, and then wind up feeling disconnected, overwhelmed or burnt out.

Yes?

But, why?

Because you’re dishing out more than you’re taking in to replenish yourself.

Bare with me for a moment here. This is important.

  • When your phone battery is low- you take time to charge it.
  • When your computer is glitchy- you take time to restart it.
  • When your kids are tired and you can tell they need some sleep- you tell them to get some rest.
  • When your gas tank is running low- you STOP to fill it up BEFORE it gets all the way past “E”.

But you don’t do that for yourself.

  • You don’t take the time to charge up.
  • You don’t pause long enough for a re-boot.
  • You don’t slow down to rest.
  • You don’t ?? to fuel up.

We convince ourselves that we "should" push through, no matter what.

We fear what may happen (or what may not get tended to), if we slowed down, paused, stopped for a rest for a bit.

But, if we get honest here- how’s that really working out?

Research show us that we are less productive when we are chronically stressed and stretched, yet we convince ourselves that this could not possibly be true.

Our mind, body and soul/spirit needs a regular re-fuel. It needs to be properly replenished BEFORE the tank gets past “E” and you’re running on fumes.

Easier said than done, you say?

I know. I burnt myself out a few times and had to learn how to RESET myself the hard way.

It took me years of trial and error, and significant study and implementation to figured out how to hit my own RESET button in an effective way. I won't say it was easy, but it was worth it.

Here's what's needed to hit your own RESET button:

  • Get accountable on the inside and outside- stop trying to go it all alone.
  • Get intentional- don't expect your life to get less busy on its own. You have to create the life you want to experience.
  • Be honest about what IS and IS NOT how you want it to be. Convincing yourself that you need to just grin and bear it can only work for but so long.
  • Invest. If you value your health and relationships, then invest the time, money, effort and resource it requires to create sustainable change and enhancement.
