Why Your Video Marketing Isn’t Working

No doubt you know that video marketing is a fairly essential part of your marketing / advertising, but with so many hours of video on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc.being loaded every single day, you need to make sure you stand out to your target audience.

Even a business with a huge budget for their video content can fail dramatically if they don’t get the right things in place.?In fact there’s a very good chance those who find their video content isn’t working are making the same mistakes in the creation process (once it’s uploaded is a different kettle of fish).

So, these are 3 problems I’ve come across on a few occasions.

  1. Your objectives aren’t clear. You need to know who your video is intended to help, what problem the product or service you sell is going to help fix.?The thing is if you don’t know how it helps and who you’re speaking too, you could make content for Bob whose a 55 year old builder but your target is 23 year old Sally who’s about to get married.
  2. You’re not direct enough. Yes it’s great to be massively cinematic with your videos but, you don’t want your audience to watch and leave.?Give them value, help them with information that couldn’t have been delivered simply on your email system or in a blog.?Also, make sure you get to the point, don’t make your audience feel they could have done what the video was about in a quick 3 liner email.
  3. You’re not prepared. Basically, have you storyboarded your content piece / pieces.?You need to know what you’re filming, how it’ll be filmed, what kit you need etc. etc.?If you’ve not prepped before you shoot the chances are something will be missing.

The thing is, with a lot of these you could do it yourself, or you could speak to an expert team to help you and take away the stress so you can concentrate on putting the awesome content to good use for your brand and business.
