And no, I don’t mean you need glasses (unless, of course, you do).
I mean, you need a clear, compelling vision that keeps you laser-focused on the tasks that actually grow your business—like prospecting, lead follow-up, and marketing.
Instead, many agents spend their days reacting to whatever pops up in their inbox instead of proactively building their empire.
Why Vision Matters (And Why Without It, You’ll Just Keep “Researching” on Zillow)
Having a strong vision for your business is like having GPS for a road trip.
Without it, you’re just driving in circles, stopping for snacks, and wondering why you’re still in the same place a year later.
With it, you know exactly where you’re going, which turns to take, and when to put the pedal to the metal (or at least when to stop binge-watching HGTV).
A clear vision helps you: ? Stay motivated when deals fall through (because they will—cue dramatic music) ? Prioritize revenue-generating activities (instead of “busy work” like color-coding your CRM for the 10th time... in rainbow order) ? Say no to distractions (and yes to making more money and maybe even that dream vacation)
How to Create a Vision That Gets You Moving
Here’s a simple test: If your “vision” is just “make more money,” that’s not a vision—that’s an ATM.
Your vision should excite you, pull you forward, and make you WANT to take action every single day (without bribing yourself with coffee... okay, maybe a little coffee).
Think about these questions:
When you get clear on your answers, put them somewhere you can see every day.
Tape them to your desk, make it your phone wallpaper, or hire a skywriter (okay, maybe not that last one—but if you do, at least invite me to see it!).
Vision + Action = Results
In?my?experience,?the agents who win in this business aren’t necessarily the smartest or the most experienced—they’re the ones who have a strong vision and take action on it daily.
That means blocking time for lead generation, following up like a boss, and treating their business like an actual business, not a side hobby (or worse, a Netflix marathon intermission).
So, next time you catch yourself deep into a YouTube black hole instead of calling prospects, ask yourself: “Is this moving me closer to my vision?”
