I remember how excited I was when I started my first podcast. I thought it would be the golden ticket to growing my business and generating revenue.?
Unfortunately, it didn't quite work out that way. After two failed attempts and a complete pivot, I FINALLY discovered the secret to successfully monetizing a podcast.
Here’s the low-down..
You see, many podcasters hope that simply starting a show will naturally lead to business growth. But that’s the furthest thing from the truth.?
In fact, there are three distinct paths to monetize a podcast, and each requires a different approach.
Path 1: Becoming a Thought Leader and Industry Expert
This path leverages your podcast to secure speaking engagements, book deals, and partnerships by establishing your credibility and showcasing your expertise as an industry expert.
We recently had a client sign a book deal and another get booked for their first international speaking gig!
The key to successfully utilizing this path is having the right BRANDING, CONTENT, and GUESTS.
Path 2: Generating Leads and Cultivating Relationships
Your podcast can open doors with potential clients, partners, or influencers. By connecting with guests and following up, you'll build relationships and generate leads that can propel your business forward by accessing individuals who may have been otherwise unreachable.
As an example – one of our partner podcasts is currently generating dozens of sales opportunities every month for their business!
The key to successfully utilizing this path is having the right FOLLOW UP and PROMOTION systems.
Path 3: Monetizing Your Audience
Although directly selling products or services to your audience is a popular path, it’s probably the most challenging - or at least it takes the longest. This path takes time to gain traction and requires a dedicated strategy, but it’s really profitable when you stay at it.
We recently had a client launch a 6-figure program on the back of their podcast launch.
The key to successfully utilizing this path is CONSISTENCY and having the right “podcast funnel” built out.
Ideally you’ll want to pick 1 – or MAYBE 2 – of these to implement into your show.
And that’s where I want to help.
Because I don’t want you to have to struggle (and fail) as much as I did to finally figure it out and get these things implemented.
