Why Your Losing Views

Hey, creators! I'm Ede, the creative director at Obas Media, where we build brands all across the Bay Area. So today, we're going to talk about why you're losing views? I've been getting this question a lot, and actually, it's been happening for a while.
A few things, first, social platforms started off being text-based, and then photos became super popular when Instagram came on board, and then videos were started by youtube. If you notice, it took a while for a lot of the social platforms to catch up doing videos, like LinkedIn, it took them a while to have that feature. As we keep moving forward with these social platforms, or as they keep evolving, you’ll notice that the new features will have an algorithm to favor these new features. Here's a reason why. So, they did this study across 44 countries, and they've asked everyone what were their major social frustrations. I actually talk about it in this blog. The main social frustrations were that we were not being able to connect with each other, or we were worried about people not being authentic, and not really building relationships online. So, social platforms heard these frustrations, and now, they've changed a lot. So, you're gonna have to really be more engaged with your online community. What I mean by that is liking, commenting, sharing, and really interacting and having conversations online. I want to also go through three things that you can do organically to continue to still increase your views.
The first thing is leveraging, live broadcasting, and watch parties. This is your opportunity to really celebritize yourself, and you can also have your own show. There's also a thing called watch parties that other people in your circle of influence, or your friends, or your support system, they can also host a watch party on their platform and stream it live on their account. Not only is it live on your account, but if you have it live on like other platforms with a watch party, that's broadcasting with a collaborative effort between all of those social media profiles. Which then, you reach a way bigger audience. That's one way to do it. You can also use like Zoom, Be. Live TV, Restream.io, OBS studio, and even SlingStudio, to help you with this part of that. Now, the second thing is the stories. I love stories I probably post more stories than I do regular posts, but there are so many different ways that you can use stories. So, one way is when you have a post, you can actually share that post on your story, on your business story as well, and on multiple stories of the pages that you own or have access to. That will drive a lot of views as well. Stories are actually being favored right now, so it's like at the top of the feed every time. The great thing about stories is you can actually see who's viewing your story. If you see someone viewing it multiple times, that might be a customer that you can follow up with.
The third thing is hashtags. As you know, hashtags are like keywords to google right now. People are following hashtags, and you can actually add hashtags, not just on your posts, but also within your stories. You can hide these hashtags behind images, or anything like that, you can be a little bit more creative, but yes, hashtags can definitely help you increase your views organically. Another bonus is running an ad. Right now is a great time to be running ads on social platforms, because the cost is so low. All business owners and professionals have the opportunity to really advertise their company just like fortune 500 companies used to, without spending so much money on advertising, without breaking your bank. As you increase your business, you can increase the cost of advertising as well.
So, those are three ways to continue to increase your views on these social platforms.
