Why your LinkedIn profile is 500x more likely to help you get a new job than your CV

This is not an exaggeration.

I am a recruiter. As you see in the screenshot above, my profile was viewed by 4,471 people in the last year. And I am not the most active person on LinkedIn.

I got approached for numerous job opportunities (yes, recruiters get headhunted as well) - and not a single person has seen my CV.

So here are three main reasons why LinkedIn trumps CV:

1. Numbers

? Your CV only gets seen a handful of times – when you apply for a job.

?? Your LinkedIn profile gets viewed hundreds to thousands times a year. That could be as much as 500x – 1000x difference. And as we know, finding a good opportunity includes playing the numbers game.

2. Caliber of eyeballs
