Why Your Joint Venture Strategy Isn’t Working (And How to Fix It)

The third Monday of January has been labelled by many as “the most depressing day of the year” (especially if you live further North).
The holiday season is a distant memory….
….Many are under financial strain due to all the money spent over the holidays...
?…The nights are long, the days are short, and the weather is miserable….
….And worst of all we’ve broken all our new years resolutions.?
And I think that’s the hardest thing about January.?
We often go into the new year full of enthusiasm and excitement about all the goals we want to achieve, but then very quickly we give up…and we end up feeling deflated.?
There are lots of reasons that new years resolutions fail.?
Our goals are unrealistic, we haven’t stopped to think through why we want to achieve a particular goal in the first place, but most of all, we haven’t really mapped out a plan to achieve our goals.?
As the old saying goes, “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”.?
Which brings me onto my own new years resolution.?
I joined the gym about 18 months ago. I’ve been trying to build up my core muscles and improve my posture.?
The problem was, my exercise routine was random. I was using different weight machines without really understanding which one was right for me. I wasn’t sure that it was making any difference.
I needed a plan
So for my new years resolution, I hired a personal trainer
The plan was to start with a one-off session.?
So I spent an hour with the coach….
And I made a shocking discovery…..
I was doing EVERYTHING wrong.
And I mean everything.?
? I was spending too long warming up.?
? I wasn’t doing the right stretching exercises
? I was exercising with the wrong equipment
? And even when I used the right equipment, I was using it all wrong
The personal trainer’s verdict?
“You’re doing a great job of tiring yourself out, but not much else”.?
It was an eye opener.
It made me think…. How many of us try to figure out stuff by ourselves without having a plan?
